Quick answer

To start Lagos Life, open lagoslife.app, create an account, make your Sim and check your starting money before spending it. Get a job through Phone → Jobs, then use Go to work on a working day. Your first goal is to cover rent and any LAPO payment while keeping your Sim healthy enough to earn.

1. Create an account you can recover

Open the game in Safari or Chrome. If you arrived from a social app and the login does not stick, use that app's Open in browser option or copy the official address into your browser.

On the sign-up form:

  1. Enter your name and a username. Usernames accept 3–20 letters, numbers or underscores, without spaces.
  2. Set a password of at least 6 characters.
  3. Add a recovery email if you can. Email is optional, but it enables email password resets, as the Privacy Policy explains.
  4. Confirm that you are 18 or older and accept the terms.
  5. Submit the form. If it shows a field error, fix that field before trying again.

Use Forgot password? for an account with a recovery email. If registration or login keeps failing, the developer directs those issues to support@lagoslife.app in this support announcement. Include the error and your username; keep your password private.

For an app-style icon, follow the separate mobile and home-screen guide. Installation is optional for starting this walkthrough.

2. Make your Sim and choose two traits

The creation sequence is Look → Personality → Dream → Birth lottery → Home. A Nepo result takes you directly into the Lekki home instead of the ordinary home choice.

Choose your appearance, then select two personality traits. If the Personality screen will not let you continue, check that exactly two traits are selected.

Use a trait that supports the skill you expect to train:

2. Make your Sim and choose two traits
TraitSkill it supportsCareers using that skill
Tech Bro or SisCodingTech
Smooth TalkerCharismaBanking, Content Creator, Teaching, Football, Retail
HustlerHustleTrading, Hairstyling, Event Planning
Gym RatFitnessNursing, Fitness Coach
FoodieCookingChef
MusicalMusicMusic, DJ

These are useful pairings, rather than a requirement to take a particular job. Pick your second trait around the activities you want to do. At the Dream stage, read the goal before confirming it: career progress, wealth, music, friendships and startup funding require different actions.

The birth lottery determines Nepo Baby or LAPO Baby once per account. Starting a new life does not reroll the result. Check the starting-life comparison before making a budget; the two starts have different jobs, bills and cash.

3. Choose a home and protect the next bill

For a LAPO start, the opening choices are:

3. Choose a home and protect the next bill
HomeStarting cash including the LAPO loanWeekly rentRent plus a normal LAPO payment
Mushin: Face-me-I-face-you₦76,000₦2,400₦14,400
Yaba: Self-contain₦96,000₦6,000₦18,000

Mushin keeps the recurring bill lower. Yaba gives more starting cash and more space, but the extra cash does not remove its higher weekly rent. Both starts already include basic household items, so inspect what you own before buying replacements.

Rent is processed on Saturday morning. The LAPO loan is collected on its own seven-day cycle, so it need not fall on Saturday. Reserve both upcoming payments. A Nepo Baby starts with Daddy covering the Lekki rent, subject to the conditions explained on the comparison page.

4. Get a job and use Go to work

  1. Open Phone → Jobs. Compare the skill, scheduled working days and pay. The jobs and salaries guide lists all career levels.
  2. Choose a career and use Apply — start tomorrow. Check that the Jobs panel now shows your employment and next shift.
  3. On a scheduled working day, look for Go to work. The game's help says the button appears from 6 AM; it sends your Sim into work without requiring you to find the venue manually.
  4. Follow the shift screen, manage the available work tasks and finish the shift. The work summary shows pay and performance; check Bank for the balance change.

The current Jobs panel describes 1-hour shifts, and the work rules use 60 game minutes. Go to work is available from 06:00 until before 22:00 on an eligible working day. This is a game-clock window; follow the active progress for completion. Starting work deducts up to ₦150 transport from your available balance.

4. Get a job and use Go to work
If work will not startWhat to check
There is no job in the panelApply first, then check for the job title
Go to work is missingCheck the working day, game clock and whether today's shift is already done
Your Sim is travelling or already workingFinish that activity and check again
Your Sim is in a cell or seriously sickResolve the condition shown by the game; serious sickness blocks work
You have full performance but no promotionTrain the career's required skill; performance alone is insufficient

Leaving a shift early can reduce pay. Switching careers also starts the new track at level 1, so review the pay change before confirming.

5. Keep the six needs usable

5. Keep the six needs usable
NeedA practical responseSuccess signal
HungerEat or prepare foodHunger rises
EnergySleep using your bed or mattressEnergy rises while resting
HygieneUse a washing or bathing actionHygiene rises
BladderUse the toiletBladder rises
FunChoose a leisure or music activityFun rises
SocialUse a conversation or social activitySocial rises

Attend to low needs before starting work or a long activity. If a powered household action reports NEPA took light, use an available alternative or restore power before repeating it. Buying the item alone does not guarantee its action will work during an outage.

6. Turn the first payday into progress

Check Bank after your shift, keep upcoming bills covered, and train the skill your next promotion needs. Then choose an affordable side gig for spare time. A business purchase makes sense only when its price leaves enough money for living costs and a bad day.

Use the money guide to decide when to move from wages and gigs to assets. Expensive housing brings larger recurring rent; moving into Ikoyi or Banana Island does not remove the weekly bill.

Unofficial guide. The steps above are supported by the official interface and game configuration, rather than a claimed logged-in playtest.
